Which vehicles are affected?

From 3 January 2012 the Low Emission Zone is changing. More vehicle types will be affected, and standards for vehicles already affected will be tightening. Vehicles affected will be small commercial vehicles up to and including 3.5 tonnes registered before January 2002.
(Vehicles registered after 2002 are not affected)

What are my options?

If your vehicle doesn't meet the emissions standards, there are a number of things you can do. We'd recommend you make a decision as soon as possible, as some take longer than others.

Penalty Charges

We may issue a Penalty Charge Notice if you drive within the Low Emission Zone without meeting emissions standards, or paying the daily charge.

Make a payment

If your vehicle doesn't meet the required emissions standards, you can pay the daily charge or Penalty Charge.
